AT THE COLOUR BAR

Every bowl, weighed and remembered.

Drop the bowl on the Palette scale and we capture brand, shade, developer, grams, and timestamp. Reweigh after application to track what was actually used. Whether it’s a colour mix, a bleach, a keratin smoothing treatment, or a bond builder, their formula card stays with you.

  • Tracks colour, bleach, keratin & smoothing, glosses, bond builders
  • Brand agnostic: O&M, Wella, L'Oréal, Oway
  • Smart Bluetooth scale, included in pilot

How much is your colour actually costing?

Slide the numbers to match your salon. We won't guess what you'd save, because we'd only be guessing. This is your own volume multiplied out, so you can see the size of what currently isn't being measured.

For rent-a-chair salons

Share the stockroom. Accounted to the gram.

Salon owners renting chairs to independent stylists no longer have to guess who used what. Palette tracks every gram by stylist, by client, and can roll it up into a clean monthly statement whenever you need it.

  • Owner sets the per-gram rate; renters see it before each bowl
  • Statements auto-generate on demand, line-itemised, exportable
  • Each renter sees their own ledger, no surprises at month-end

FAQ

Frequently asked, honestly answered.

Honestly, it's quick, and you're never doing it alone. We post the smart-scale and a simple setup card straight to your salon, then jump on a video call and walk your team through every step together: unboxing, pairing the scale, weighing your first live formula. There's nothing to figure out on your own. The setup is built so your team is weighing live by the end of that one call, and onboarding is completely free for every pilot salon.

Palette is built specifically for the Australian market: month-to-month pricing with no annual lock-in, and local support based in Sydney. During the pilot period the smart-scale is complimentary. If you're happy on month three, stay; if not, walk away.

Three things: (1) the mobile app is beautifully simple behind the chair (weigh, log, done) so it feels effortless from the first client, with nothing extra to learn; (2) in the first month we run two friendly video coaching sessions with your team, and we stay on hand for the small questions in between, so nobody's left guessing; (3) Palette shows each stylist their personal earnings ledger, which turns the system into something they actually want to use.

No. Palette layers onto whatever you already do: time-based or package pricing. You can simply use the data internally for waste and inventory, or surface colour cost on the bill. Many salons start internal-only and add itemised pricing later, once the team is settled.

Charging for excess colour is entirely optional. We think it's worth it, it's the cleanest way to stop eating margin on long or thick hair, but you don't have to. Plenty of pilot salons keep the colour cost internal and never surface it on the bill: the formula tracking and storage, usage insights, automatic reordering, waste monitoring, and per-stylist tracking are valuable on their own, with no client-facing charge required. If you do choose to itemise, in our experience clients tend to read "colour used · 124g · $14.20" as transparency, the same way they'd read an itemised receipt at a café or restaurant. We're happy to talk through what we've heard from pilot salons on the demo.
